Baby Shower #2!

So we are blessed enough to have had another baby shower thrown for us by my two best friends from college! We decided to have it at my house so I wouldn't have to lug all of the gifts home afterwards! They came over Friday night, the night before the shower and got to work! They helped me clean up the house and cooked up a storm for the shower! They made a delicious chicken salad, parmesean cheese dip, Mini fruit pizzas, cupcakes, and oreo dessert cups! We also had chips and salsa and a veggie tray! Can you say YUMM YUMM!! They did such a good job planning and I appreciate them and all they do so very much!!

It was so good to see some of my friends that I don't get to see too often and my family even came into town! We had a really good time and Judah scored some pretty awesome things!! Thanks to all! We are so lucky to have you all!!

Thanks again to everyone! Looks like we will have to buy next to nothing to be ready for our little man's arrival! Lucky I tell ya, we are sooo lucky!

Boys will be boys!

So when Doug found out that the Pacers would be playing the Bulls in Indy all he has been talking about all of us going to the game. Him and Ry were so excited and looking forward to it and all I could think is... do I have to go?? HAHA! So I nicely mentioned to Doug that I really had no interest in going to the game and that it would be really special for  him and Riley to go alone together! Good father/son bonding time while he is still the only son! So they went to the game on Thursday and  had a me evening! They had a great time as did I! Plus the Bulls won, so that was a plus!!

Riley is turning into quite the sports finatic so this was a very special night for them to spend together!!

My poor hubby!

It has been quite an interesting few months with Doug's health. The poor guy has had scopes of all kinds, a cat scan, and IV's galore due to a very intense pain in his left side that would not go away. Finally we got an answer and were having luck treating the problem (thank God). Just when things start to settle down he notices a pain in his nostril and thinks its just a pimple in his nose or something. We hoped it would just go away like those little annoyances always do! Well, the pain got worse and worse and by Friday morning of that week his nose was starting to swell and was getting too painful to deal with. So, he went to an immediate med center and a DR. perscribed him some antibiotics to kill whatever infection was brewing. We decided to take it easy that weekend insted of going to Chicago to see our great friend's new baby. We were super bummed, but it was a very good thing we stayed home. By Sat morning his nose was double the size it is normally and his eye was starting to swell also. You could see the infection in his nose so we tried to drain it, but had no real success with that. So he just took it easy that night and we hoped he would wake up feeling a little better on Sunday. Well, we were wrong! We woke up Sunday and his nose and eye were even worse. So we decided to make the fun trip to the ER expecting that they would maybe give him some anitbiotics through an IV to be more aggressive.
Well, about 5 min after going back to the room the Dr. informs us that he will be admitting Doug to the hospital and he would have a 2 night stay at the minimum. I immediately start bawling because I was not expecting that at all (and let's face it, I am a crazy, emotional, hormonal pregnant woman). I did not want him to stay in the hospital because that seemed way more serious than what I was prepared for!

Thankfully we have some good friends that came to see us at the hospital, and Stac is actually a nurse that works there and they helped me calm down a little! Then I talked to my mom and she reassured me that him staying at the hospital was the best for him with such a bad infection so close to his eyes, brain, etc...

So, he stayed for 2 nights and they pumped him full of meds that killed the infection! He looked so much better even the next day! By Tues his nose looked almost back to normal! I stayed with him at the hospital Monday night and was so happy to bring him home the next morning!!

All I have to say is PLEASE, let him be healthy until this baby is born (and well after) AMEN!
Friday nose swelling a little bit

By Sat this is what his nose looked like :( It got worse on Sun!
So glad you are feeling better my love! I hate it when you are not well!!
